this is great - sposed to to start a new job today and i got pink-eye |

or some kind of infection in my left eye. the lids all swollen and it's a little tender. what is the treatment for this?
probably need to call off going in today - it looks scary....

If it's Pink Eye it is highly contagious. I have a co-worker who is going through the same thing. From what i understand you could lose your sight it that eye if not treated.

or pink eye, you need to see a physician to get a prescription for antibiotic eyedrops. Do NOT rub the eye or touch it; the stuff is highly contagious. But it could be other things-pink eye usually itches, and that is not one of the symptoms you mentioned. This time of year, dust and dirt in the air can make an eye swell as you've described, or you could have a 'cold in the eye', believe it or not. Use eyewash for these problems.

talk about a sticky situation, yuck. Just don't touch it and if you do wash your hands immediately to keep it from spreading to your new co-workers. Thay'd appreciate that. :)
