A MAN wearing a blond wig who allegedly lifted his kilt during New Year celebrations will face court in Queensland, charged with wilful exposure.

The 21-year-old was arrested on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday after complaints he had proved he wasn't wearing anything under his Celtic outfit, police said.

Officers were responding to complaints about a streaker in a blond wig and a kilt in the main street of Alexandra Headland when they arrested the reveller.

The man has been served with a notice to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 17.

Police have charged the red-faced man with two counts of wilful exposure.
