"Dr. Phil" has a weight loss program?
How do I put this tactfully?

Is he qualified to be a weight loss expert?? Is he qualified to dispense weight loss advice? Frankly, the guy looks like a big tub of lard. If he's actually lost weight, was he sumo wrestler size or something?

Just wondering if anyone can go on television and proclaim themselves an expert on weight loss or fitness.

1. Yep. Seems pretty ridiculous to me that a
psychologist has one. That's why I haven't bothered to look at it.

I think there are a lot of heavy-Texas-Baptist-right-wingers who adore him, so he has a pretty good lock on that target market.

I wish Oprah had never discovered this puke. I wonder if she wishes it as well.

2. Is he really an expert about anything?
I know he has kids, but I have done some serious eye rolling regarding his parenting tips too. I have a feeling his wife did most of the child raising in that family.

And yeah, he probably isn't the person I'd turn to for weight loss tips. LOL

9. Yeah, I saw him admit on a program years ago that
he didn't want kids. He and his wife had negotiated at the outset of their marriage for only one child. It struck me as being a very narrow mindset considering they weren't parents at all at the time of making the decision.

He said he was at a marriage workshop with her once and heard her admit across the room that one thing she wished she hadn't negotiated on during their marriage was in having only one child. She was wishing she had at least one more, and that it was a very depressing and sad event in her life. He said after hearing her, they talked about it some more, he had his vasectomy reversed, and they had another child.

I've heard him say other things about the care of infants that I completely disagree with. I think he's pretty indifferent to the needs of babies.

3. Never watched his show...
...but isn't he some sort of loudmouthed yenta?

If so, what would this type of guy not presume to have an "expert" opinion about?

7. hahahahahahahaha
Doesn't look to me like he's lost much weight since Oprah first started hyping him.

He's all about fleecing the rubes... I wouldn't take a word he says seriously.

8. Dr. Phil is a huge guy, but he did have his huge sisters...
on the program and they followed his program and lost weight. Dr. Atkins was not a skinny guy either. I'm more worried about men/women who are pushing diets but they were born skinny for life. I feel the same when I go to my exercise class. I feel better with an instructor who naturally carries a few pounds instead of the born skinny ones. That is something I cannot achieve.

I can only be the best I can be in appearance and health. I can only use diet gurus as guidelines, but must tailor my sensible eating according to my body size. I'm petite but I have a larger upper frame, more like a gymnast. There's no way I'll have a Paris Hilton tiny skinny body.

10. He has the irritating knack of making earth shattering"observations"...
...that anybody with the IQ higher than a slug would have learned by the 6th grade.
I remember one day (on Oprah) he stood up and said: "Folks, if people were nicer to each other, the world would be a better place!"

Of course, the audience gave him a standing ovation.
I remember thinking..Oh brother..who the hell is this Hack??
