Does anybody else see the irony with this headline and title? |
|
Given how carefully everyone reads these days, and given the "redstatevalues" that is such a big deal right now, I wonder how much of the popularity and appeal for this movie comes from misreading one letter in the title and all of the headlines about it?
I also wonder how many prettyboy and plastic hair local newscasters have made, on the air, the subliminal switch of letters that the producers and all associated with the movie want us to make?
'Fockers' Meets $163 Million in 12 Days
I recall seeing a report of a study where the legibility of a sentance is mostly on the first and last letters of each word.

I did. Did you meet my uncle, Dom Focker? And his sons, Randy and Arny?

I won't see that movie; the title alone crosses a line. It's one step below juvenile, to say the very least.
And I could care less if the rest of the movie makes "Mary Poppins" seem like "Sid and Nancy", but somehow I doubt that.
And it's not just irony of our "society". It's hypocritical, if not outright sanctimonious.

8. If you haven't seen "Meet the Parents" |

you have no idea what the title is about, and why it's not an evil plot to take your money.
How much do you make off of people misreading one letter in the word "sentance"?
