Anyone taken fish oil capsules?
I am not getting enough oily fish in my diet, but the problem is I am not a big fan of fish. I'd rather take the capsules, but I've heard they give you bad breath.

Anyone here take them?

2. You can get capsules that have been treated to de-taste them
same as garlic tabs.

Don't overdo them tho, especially if your digestive tract doesn't need any extra help in lubricating itself....

Other than that they seem to do some good for skin, hair and nails....

6. Take them with a meal.
I was told to take them with food to prevent fishy smell or taste. When they dissolve in with your food, it's diluted enough to not cause such problems.

7. Omega 3-6-9
Edited on Mon Jan-03-05 12:20 PM by auntAgonist
My husband has Ulcerative Colitis and it is definately good for him. No bad breath at all.
NOT recommended for people with Cystic Fiborsis. Check the labels carefully and read up on drug interactions if you take other meds. If you have any other Chronic illness 3-6-9 might not be right for you.

This is the best price and best delivery service we've found for the product.

they were 3 times the price in the health food store.

11. Make sure they're filtered for heavy metals
I like to use the Nordic Naturals line, because they're third-party tested for mercury, lead, and dioxins. And they add strawberry flavoring to cut the fishy smell/taste.

Best pricing I've found online for them is:

12. Yes - with Niacin (and Lipitor and Metformin)
Yes. My DR put me on Lipitor and Metformin - moderate improvement in cholesterol and glucose. The he suggested fish oil and niacin (along with the Lipitor and Metformin) - and I am in the "Normal Healthy" range on glucose and lipids.
