watch out from Ohio valley to Southern and central New England
Looks to me like there will be a tight gradient, but there will be places in here than get over 1 foot of snow, and also places that get over 1.5" of ICE (very, very dangerous... would be historic if it happened.)

Just a heads up... looks like Wednesday for OV, and Thursday for NE.

2. Weather channel says it's not going to get cold enough
here in the western Ohio valley to snow or ice. Projected low is only 36 for Wednesday. Rain will be ending Wednesday, too.

3. I think the beginnings of this storm dropped a couple inches..
....of 'ice pellets' on minn/wis/ill during the weekend.
it was like sugar and very difficult to walk on....watch the falls if you get this stuff.
by the next day it had congealed pretty much into solid ice that refused to be shoveled....it's going to be there a while.

5. Hey, DU weather dude....gotta question for you:
Is it EVER going to stop raining in the SF bay area? Geez, I feel like I ought to be building an ark right now (it's actually NOT raining right now, but will start up again tomorrow).

It's getting ruh-dicka-lous!

12. Thx Redsoxlib!
One other tidbit you might all be interested in:
There will be a "supermoon" occuring on 1/10. This is quite rare, and usually is assoc. with unusual weather patterns for several days surrounding the date (1/7-1/13). Heavy storms, mudslides etc. Last one was in Spring of '93- Remember those unusual hurricanes in FL at this time then??

11. I have heard both ice and snow here...
they keep changing their minds. One stations says significant snow fall the other says ice then snow..I hate driving in that crap.

16. it's an extremely difficult forecast this time
25 miles north or south is the difference in boston between 10"+ of snow, 4-8" of snow then significant ice, or a historic ice storm. Currently i'm leaning towards about 8" of snow for Boston, then at least .25" of ice on top... some estimates have boston at 15" of snow... one even has only 2" that then gets washed away by rain. Should be in better focus tomorrow.
