Those that have seen the movie may know who I'm talking about. It's teh hobbit that looks at Frodo, Sam, Pippin, and Merry, with anger and kinda scoffs at them.

with Gandalf & the elves and such?
All the hobbits in that scene are male. The really old one with the long white/grey hair is Bilbo, Frodo's uncle, who gets on the boat with the elves. Then Gandalf starts towards the boat and turns around and tells Frodo that it's time to go. Frodo says good-bye to Merry & Pippin, then finally to Sam.
The very final scene is when Sam arrives back in the Shire and is met by his daughter, then by his wife Rosie Cotton Gamgee who is holding their newest baby. Sam says "Well, I'm back" and they go into the house together and close the door.
