Anyone know where I can get a really good sports bra? |
|
I'm a full-figured gal (a shrinking full-figured gal, but full-figured for the time being) and I need something that is going to offer some serious support. Ironically, finding a bra with good support is easier for women who don't need as much support.
I don't mind paying even as much as $50 (or even a bit more) if I KNOW it's a good bra.
I told myself when I had reached a certain weight loss, I would try jogging, but I don't want to do that unless I can find a good bra.
suggestions?

It's easier on the knees and ankles, and lower back, and you probably won't need the 50 dollar bra.

3. No, I wish I could help. |

I wear a B cup so I have no trouble finding decent sport bras at any department store.
Having a good sports bra is very important if you will be jogging. I hope you find what you are looking for.

best thing around in plus size world for sports bra. Just put "Enell sports bra" in search the web and you will get plenty of info on these. I can assure you this is the best available for full-figure and genuine sports activity. Never found one locally, but various sites on the internet, including eBay often have them available.

6. As far as support goes-- |
|
Standard, plain ol' cotton/lycra Fruit of the Loom bras from department stores like Walmart (go 'head, boo hiss, Walmart bad) and Kmart do a pretty nice job--not just for support, but coverage: no good being hoisted high and tight, but spilling out the top and sides. I've found that to be a problem with the Hanes Her Way sports bras--they're sturdy, but skimpy. I'm about a 38 D (I fluctuate because of dieting/hormones/whatever) and I actually go a 36 in the sports bra, because it just seems to hold together better that way. So you might want to try 'em in different sizes to see how they'll do. And I know this'll sound cute, but--if there is a support issue--double-bagging can come in handy for something high-impact like jogging. It's tight at first, but everything stretches.

They have a ratings feature that shows the level of support. I have a 4 barbell for days when I'm jogging/running. Nuthin moves.
For the record, I'm a 38 C bordering on D, so on the grand scale, apparently only average. If you can, find a shop and go in and have a fitting. There's one here in Boulder, so I guess if you're willing to make the trip, I'll put you up!
