11. SKITTLES IS A HE . . . .
history: a guy found him in Waxahachie Texas - starving 7 pound stray with a leg so badly dislocated the bone was showing. 800 dollars for leg surgery/fixing and a few years later.....PRESTO! My beloved butterball. He lives at the farm with Tombo. :)

Skittles lived with me in town first, then with me and Tombo at the farm; when I left Skittles stayed because he had become a farm cat. I miss him but still get to see him sometimes; I take care of Tombo's kitties when he is out of town.

we don't know why Skitbit is so darn fat; he doesn't seem to eat THAAT much. We remember he seemed to blow up not long after we got him, when Tombo and I went to England for a couple of weeks - I accused the guy who took care of him of feeding him protien shakes.

She doesn't seem to eat that much either, but she is HUGE. We're guessing either a mild thyroid problem or that she's secretly eating a ton of wildlife. We know she likes crickets... I guess those are like little buggy protein shakes.

Does he have a New Year's Resolution? Like working out more often?

me and Tombo love him to pieces and we spent big bucks on him! He wore a pin in his leg for weeks because he was a starving injured stray - a guy Tombo worked with put him in a box, strapped him on a motorcycle and brought him to us - that guy was allergic to cats bless his heart but he said he couldn't just leave him. We are so glad he didn't!

64. Ya know, my cat Callie has a similar...er...physique
Callie was also a starving stray. She's 13 now, and lost all her teeth years ago. I think her nutrition was so bad when she was young and trying to make it on her own that she never was able to develop strong teeth. But, toothless fat old girl that she is, she still manages to gum down enough food to be a heavy set kitty. She also is a snuggler. She sleeps on my pillow with her nose buried in my hair. I tried for year to break her of the habit, but finally I've just gotten used to having a "cat hat" at night.

95. Similar story...
Years ago, I lived with a roommate and we had 3 cats. The momma was a "big-boned gal". My bedroom was a converted sun porch and the door was french-style with many small windows. One of the windows was broken when we moved in, and since it was an interior door, we never bothered to get it fixed. The kitties loved to jump through the empty window when the door was shut. Well, the momma kept getting fatter and fatter, and one night I woke up to the most ridiculous meowing - I turned on the light, and Babbette was stuck half-in and half-out of the window, about a foot above the ground, all four paws in the air. I don't think she ever forgave me for the following laughter...

The next day, we covered up the hole with that window sealer stuff - like plastic wrap. That night, I was in the bedroom with the door closed, and I saw little Phoenix running toward the formerly-empty window pane. He took his flying leap and smashed into the plastic wrap. He was like, "WTF!" More laughter from me. I miss those two. Babbette died two years ago at age approx 18. Her son Phoenix died last year at 12 years. His sister Phoebe lives with my former roommate in NC.

70. I love big ol' fat cats!
The vet lectures me about my fat boy (he's fifteen pounds on the hoof and big boned to boot) but I can't help it--I think fat cats are just too cool.

Thanks for sharing your guys with us!

Laura

87. nah, not really a lap cat
we had hopes for a lap cat when we first got him and he was injured - that first day he would jump up using just his three legs (fourth one was f***ed up) and sit and purr; alas, when that cast came off he was off and running and hasn't looked back. :)

My Cosmo is starting become a big boy, too.

It's strange, boy cats eat the same food and Ricco is slim and trim but Cosmo is getting BIG.
