8. There's a special relationship between Chicago and the Dunedin scene |
|
Ajax Records in Chicago reissued some of the Xpressway titles.
My ex followed Peter Jeffries and Alastair Galbraith on tour in the mid-90s and made a documentary of it, "Head in the Clouds."
The Chicago music writer Bill Meyer, who writes occasional critics' choices for the Reader, knows a lot of these folks and is an expert on that scene.
I myself have had the great pleasure of seeing performances by Alastair Galbraith, Peter Jeffries, Sandra Bell, Trash, and Chris Knox.

|
Dunedin - Chicago - Glasgow - Manchester - Melbourne - Vancouver - Seattle - New York - Boston etc. See? Rock n' Roll's a force for world peace!

13. Sorry Wat, but since the population of Swindon is 157,000..... |
|
And the best band in the world is from Swindon, that's would make it ONE phenomenal band for every 157,000 persons.
Swindon it is. ;-)

14. Can't forget Human Instinct..... |
|
Amazing, hot, psychedelic NZ band operational between 67-73 with a stand-up drummer (like the Butthole Surfers!) and Maori guitar genius Billy TK squeezing out riffs.
They released three records in their lifetime, but the second, "Stoned Guitar," is widely regarded as their best.
