Memo to Duran Duran: STOP WHORING YOURSELVES!! |
|
God, first it was New Year's Rockin' Eve, introduced by Lindsey FUCKING Lohan for chrissakes! They came out, all bloated and old and shit, and played some song that was so generic and horrendous and talentless, I couldn't believe that I ever liked this band, much less worshipped them with every fiber of my being in high school.
And then, last night...they appeared on the boob-fest on NBC, LAS VEGAS. (Yes, yes, Polyphonic Spree was on that show too, that doesn't make it any better.) And they were equally as horrible.
Stop it, STOP IT!! You were everything to me in 10th grade, Simon and John. It kills me to see you like this now. They must have dumped a whole truckload of money on your front lawn to make you do this new album...

At least on stage left. ;-)

This band should have been named "Whore" from the start. If so, it would have been the only cool thing they ever did. ;)

I'm proud to say that my musical tastes have not in any way evolved or matured since 10th grade.
Duran Duran had two good albums* in them. They should have quit when they were way, way ahead.
*the debut album and Rio, but I'll give a not to "Thank You", because is't so campy, it's great.

16. Well, they are no longer, as a UK critic once called them... |
|
"Callow Young Lads". They have grown up, and let me tell you, age takes its toll. Dammit.

4. They peaked with "View to a Kill" |
|
Most every artist that I can think of who does a James Bond theme does so to signify that their career has peaked.
Hey, Simon got Yasmeen - where's there to go after that?

7. Um...it'll take at least 20 years to undo the previous 20 years. |
|
But that's OK, it will take Simon at least that long to lose the weight.

13. How can you not like Duran Duran??? |
|
Granted they're older, a little more "well-rounded" so to speak, but their songs are still very, very good. I like them. Probably always will.

But then I don't care about them even one tiny little bit anymore.
I did really like them at first, though.

is the dylan of her generation!! LOL
Could be worse. You could have lusted after Linda Ronstandt and watched her become a overweight, Mexican, Torch singer (who dabbled in lots of other not very good music.)
