Where are we, specifically?

9. West San Diego indeed.
Actually, we are at a well known tourist spot. Although we are facing the west in the photo.

14. We were on the deck of an aircraft carrier while in SD.
We took a tour of the USS Midway, which was a sister ship to the ship I was on, the FDR.

Actually, we're at Cabrillo National Monument on Point Loma. The area just behind us and in front of downtown San Diego is North Island Naval Air Station.

20. We did not.
We were on our way to a tour on the USS Midway and afterwards to the San Diego Auto Show. We really crammed a lot into our trip, so the lighthouse will have to wait until next time.

:hi:

25. Me too!
I'm there.......lotto or not. Someday.

I did live at North Island for 2 months in the summer of '77.

I was happy to see that not much as changed in SD over the years and what has changed has been for the better.

29. Last time I was there, we stayed right on Point Loma.
It was this 40's style small hotel. Lots of character, but clean sand safe.

We took a drive out to the Hotel Del just to walk around. I have a pack of matches that makes it look like I stayed.

8. Egads. No way. We lived there for 6 years........
...and have no desire to return.

Anyway, there are no hills in Houston and it's not near the water either. Though I suppose you might guess that we were in a building.

30. Not to La Jolla, or even El Cajon.....
Which are two of my favorite, most mispronounced cities.

Mostly hung out in downtown SD. The Gaslight Quarter is great. Wonderful restaurants. Went to the Auto Show at the Convention Center.

Love SD.

31. Not Guessing, But.. .
. . .how long were you there?

I read the rest of the thread first, so i knew the answer, but i never would have gotten it anyway. Just knew it was near a sizeable city near an ocean or vast body of water. So, i'm glad someone else guessed it right. I'd have been here all day typing in guesses!

Hope you guys had fun.
