and there is a LONG history of anti-semitism in Europe (back to the 1300 at least) but it is not exclusive to the French by any means.

Notice how we have a National Holocaust Museum here in this country, even though it happened in Europe. Why don't we have a slavery museum? After all, the logical places for these things are close to where the victimization took place.

We love to remember other peoples' shortcomings and simultaneously deny our own. Oh, and go on and on about how much purer we are than everyone else. :eyes:

But France is tolerant of every religion except Judaism...

America needs to head on own up to its own history and stop trying to pretend that making blanket memorials to "injustices that happen all around the world" is a good enough substitute. Those types of memorials serve a function, but a museum IN AMERICA about a grave injustice SPECIFICALLY COMMITTED BY AMERICANS on other AMERICANS would serve a function also, one that the former type of memorial doesn't meet. unfortunately, Americans (as a whole, not anyone here in particular) do not seem to have it in them to take their medicine about that--at best, the speicifics of America's injustices have to be diluted to the point of being lost in the background of these catch-all "the WORLD'S inhumanity" memorials.
