Three days without cigarettes! Wish me luck!
This time I'm quitting for good. The last time was for 2 weeks and before that, 5 months. I just dont like doing it anymore and really want to quit.
BTW its almost $5.00 a pack down here in SoCal.

3. I have to. I'll be 49 soon and I would like to see 50+.
After not smoking for 18 years, I took it up again at age 40, after a seperation that led to divorce. That was over 8 years ago and my lungs are not feeling too great. During that 18 years I was running, working out and playing basketball regularly. Since then, nothing.
This time I will do it.

13. I'm trying, too, and not having much luck.
I'm even taking Wellbutrin and it's not working. It would be easier for me to stop eating than stop smoking.

But I have been smoking since I was 16 and only stopped twice in my life, which was when I was pregnant with my two kids. Cigarettes made me sick when I was pregnant. Too bad, I can't find a way to trick my body into thinking it was pregnant.

I am well past 50 now and I want to live well past 70.

22. Go to this website...
www.whyquit.com

It really has helped me. When I quit for 5 months, I credit that website with helping me. When I stopped going there and reading the articles, I started smoking again.

There must be 1000 places to go on that site (and a message board). I would visit it every day and read at least one article.

It's a no bullshit, cold turkey only philosophy. And it works.

7. Three of my co-workers are doing it too.
We would meet out in the smoking area all the time to light up. All of us are going cold turkey.
I'm doing the Halls, sugar free, mentholated cough drop and plastic coffee stirrer route myself.
How are you doing it?

14. Excellent!
The physical issues should start getting easier from here on out. Just try not to expose yourself to situations that cause a psychological desire to light-up.

You can do it!

20. Price Was My Motivation Too...
I used the patch and it was much easier than all my other cold turkey attempts.

Part of the secret to success is being able to tell the difference between the physical cravings and the psychological cravings... and in knowing how to deal with each one.

Good luck to you!!
