4. Only If You Join The American Legion |

Then, come home and put the thing on. Other than that, you're safe.
Full Disclosure: I think the root cause of that outbreak was incorrectly identified. People have been running humidifiers and forced air systems in their homes for over 75 years, and there is no regularly recurring outbreak of this effect. Based upon what happened in that Philly hotel, people should be dropping like flies from that illness every winter. And yet, . . .
I think they found what they found in the filter, and then said "Oh, we've found it!" Investigation over. No introspection, no further review. If i had been on any peer review committee, i would have hammered them. I am quite certain, to this day, that they misidentified the root cause. The Professor

Also, perhaps they immediately retreat when the bacteria approach.

8. When I run my cool aid humidifier I change the water every day |
|
And clean the whole shebang according to directions on a regular basis. When mold develops in the filter it's time for a change.
If you follow the thing's directions I'm sure it will be fine. Think of the tens of thousands of people who run their humidifiers ALL WRONG for decades and never get sick.
