5. Longrain, brown, basmati,
I love it all.

And mostly I love what Chipotle does with it in their burritos, of late. And while I'm praising them, god bless Chipotle for their free range organic Carnitas. Yum, oh yes, yum.

7. I love moros, which is Cuban black beans, rice and pork cooked together
But I would have to go with Spanish Paella as my favorite. Colombian arroz con coco (rice with coconut) is pretty tasty as well, but the coconut needs to be fresh.

12. You got to love the historical significance behind that name
Moors and Christians - When the African Moors invaded the European Spaniards, resulting in a mixture of the cultures in what is now modern-day Spain.

But my favourite of all is BBQ pork fried rice. I can even deal with it being white rice, though I much prefer brown or wild.

34. Here's a simple but delicious recipe for rice passed down from my mom
Saute white rice in a pan or ricemaker before adding the water. Toss in a few thinly sliced cloves of fresh garlic and let it cook. When it's done, add some more butter and garlic. Serve and enjoy.

35. All rice
especially white rices -

Japanese style rice comes first, then Basmati & Jasmine

Favorite sushi roll is a specialty roll at Ginza in Boston - the B-52. I can't tell ya off the top of my head what's in it, but it is freakin' amazing.

38. I made some Brown Thai Jasmine Rice tonight
I sauteed fresh spinach with shallots and garlic and some mirin wine and used it as bed for salmon teriyaki and served it with brown thai jasmine rice ( i figured I'd buy a Thai product to help the economy)

It was very yummy!

I live near a Fairway market where they have all kinds of interesting rices. I have Fragrant Vietnamese Rice, Bhutanese red rice (grown in the Himalayas!) and really short grain rice that I use to make Paella Valenciana! (It is a miracle that I don't weigh 400 pounds!)

40. Forbidden Rice.
The pearly obsidian grains are incredibly beautiful when properly prepared, and the texture is heaven. I like it pilaf style, with saffron and thyme in the arromatics and just a bit of fish sauce and some bul gogi in the cooking liquid.
