Barring any injury, it will be tough to be the Yankees this year.

6. Johnson is an excellent pitcher |
|
Although he's getting to be an old man by professional sports standards. I think he's 41. I wonder how much heat he's still got left in that left arm.
I sure do wish the Reds could get players of his caliber.

7. A year or so ago, "Theonion.com" had a gag front page story about |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-04-05 08:03 PM by Mayberry Machiavelli
the Yankees buying every major league player so that they couldn't lose the World Series. They had a gag picture with Randy Johnson, A-Rod among others in Yankee caps in a group pic (neither were Yankees at the time). I wish I could find a copy of this story now.
On edit, here's the blurb... I'm not a premium member though.

9. Really. Who gives a shit? |

Screw baseball. I'll watch it sometimes when I'm not feeling particularly motivated to do something productive, but really I couldn't care less.

10. Baseball has become a mockery of the sport it once was... |
|
You've got World Series games televised on FOX with promos for their idiotic shows running on the backstop while the batter is up,you've got these mega-rich pampered athletes with their super-inflated ego's like Barry Bonds and then you've got right wingers like Clemens and Schilling who use their public status to whore for the Shrubbites. I grew up loving baseball (my dad played ball with Joe DiMaggio when he was young in San Francisco-baseball was always a bond I shared with my father) and respected the players and the game up until recently. Now we have wholesale roster changes every year and any player that stays in one city for 5 years is a novelty.

11. Well it's one more player that proves the old adage I made up years ago |

"The Mariners-Farm team for the Yankees." (Actually, it started out as "The Mariners-Farm team for MLB"-but the Mariners got better)

when the Yankees were trying to get Jamie Moyer as their No. 5 starter. I always thought that was funny. The M's ace would become the yank's No. 5. Your adage is very funny.

I was against this trade any any trade involving Vazquez. I'm losing interest in baseball. Between the steroid shit storm and actual reality...I can't get into it anymore. DJ, Mussina,Posada, Williams, and Mo are really the only good guys left on the team anymore. Fuck. I liked Vaz. You can't keep getting older....DJ can't be around forever
