Changes in me, since NOV 2:
-I completely refrain from watching any TV news or pundit shows now (and I watched very little before).

-I listen to nothing on the radio except for sports radio (used to occasionally tune in to wingnut radio for a laugh).

-I read my usual online newspapers much less frequently than before.

-Time on DU is similar (probably somewhat less) but spent almost entirely on Lounge, Gaming forum etc. with very little on GD/LBN. Used to be the reverse.

-Enjoyment of my time on DU, and my enthusiasm, is very curtailed compared with preelection. I don't see this as anyone's fault.

-Generally somewhat depressed, but hanging in there...

1. I'm about the same in all respects
I thanked the Admins a while ago for letting us have the Lounge and the new DU Groups. They've helped me a lot. This has been a difficult, depressing time.

I know it will get better but it's no fun slogging through this now.

2. Sounds like me.
Except that I do listen to both Air America and to college radio (the public affairs shows in particular).

3. The value of the lounge to me is a place to hang out, with others who are
pretty cool by and large, and are not wingnuts except for the odd disruptor.

I live in the midst of a wingnut coven.

Really? A coven of wingnuts?
That has to be unusual. Most wiccans I know are very progressive.

13. We plan to move back to the west coast eventually, but the timing is
an issue, with work and what not.

10. Too bad
I am in KC and listen on satellite.

I fell in love with AAR before the election and since then, it has helped tremendously to listen to the Morning Sedition guys on my way to work and Randi on my way home.

7. I don't watch network or broadcast news at all
I still read my newspapers, and I listen only to Minnesota Public Radio's classical music station, not to its news station.

Lots of time on DU, but mostly in the less newsy sections.

I've been a bit depressed, too.

11. I haven't watched TV news
for several years now. I think I'm spending more time online @ DU and other places getting news and stories of the day. Read the newspapers very seldom and if I do the sports section gets my attention more than anything else.
What makes me so angry is the fact that rwingers like Rove have succeeded in making us feel this way. Beating us down, increasing voter apathy, making us wonder if there's any point to even participate in the political process anymore. They simply cannot stand to have a democracy in this country.
