8. No, no, no! I love tripping around in pretty sandals,
when the temperature is dropping and it is raining and has been all day and will all night and into most of the next day and the rain is freezing and starting to stack up on the cars and the trees are bending way over and may break and we might lose power in which case it's going to get really cold in our home not to mention dark so we all better get our bellies full because food options may not include heat by tomorrow and you might want to shower pretty quickly because there are only so many things you can accomplish hygiene-wise by flashlight.

I think tonight, I will put on a flimsy dress and some sandals. And get a bit drunk.

SheilaT, I live in your hood. Isn't this exciting? sigh.

Kim

and there is ice underneath that.

You want sexy...or warm and dry with good soles?

Priorities, man. Priorities.

10. But you will look marvelous!
That is, while you hang on to all us Bigfoot frumps to help you walk so you can have pretty feet and not bust your butt on the ice. And then, you'll talk Raoul or Fabio into rubbing your poor, wet, cold tootsies while you rest them in his well-endowed lap.

I got your number. Good plan.;-)

15. Well, you collegiate, you. I laugh at myself.
I thought we were talking about high heeled sandals.

Dang, you have lots of options; you're a man. I'd go with the alligator boots. If someone scoffs, kick his ass.

16. Go to Finland for cool winter shoes
;-)

I just got back, and my husband and I bought ugly, frumpy winter boots in North Carolina before we went there (duh)... and I almost bought some new ones in Helsinki to bring back here tho "winter" in my corner of NC has been too mild for boots. As you might expect, the Finns have looonggg gotten past standard black or brown shoes, and there are even nice looking boots for men that aren't "frilly" and aren't nearly as generic as the ones you see offered here in the US.

pair of leather boots. Very expensive too. I ruined them the first time I went into slush and the water seemed to rush right inside. They were totally useless but looked really good. Now I buy the ugly waterproof kind that work, that have traction, warmth, etc.
