1. Yeah and if you look at the rosters, USC kids are all from CA |
|
and OK kids are all from TX with a few OK kids in there. Of course they are all sports players so the majority of the athletes themselves don't know who the President is or are Freepers

3. That's kind of a blanket statement |
|
to make. There are alot of players who are very smart and are getting educated at fine institutions. What's your beef with football players?

2. Often players do not know what is outside their world b because they get sucked into often not by their own fault. Do you realize how much time these students devote to their sport? They have little time for anything else. I would not be surprised if some of these players were unaware who the President is because there was a recent election and they may not be sure who won, or they just don't have the time to look into it at all.
3. Most pro athletes are Republicans. This is common knowledge.
4. Why don't you take up generalities with the poster? They are saying that a school from Califronia playing aginast Taexs is red states vs. blue states. That's more blanket than anything I said.

10. Got a link to prove your theory? |
|
Not only that... but I guess you might not know, these kids have to be PASSING their classes in order to play!
Many of them graduate with degrees! Many of them won't. But saying that most of them are stupid and are freepers is really a blanket statement.
And one more thing.... I didn't see where we were talking about PRO athletes, this thread was about a college football game. :wtf:

Do you actually know any college athletes personally? Through different organizations that I'm in, I've come in contact with several athletes and had one on one conversations. They aren't stupid, they are just disconnected from the rest of society because they have such high demands for their sport. Since it's their life, it's all they know how to talk about. I'm the same way with politics and movies. Difference is that I have different types of people that I talk with. College athletes travel so much and often live together or right next door to each other on campus, that they have no time to become friends with other people. Therefore, none of the people they talk to ever bring up politics and current events. Current events for them is what's going on in their sport. They need to keep up on it to remain at the top of their game. It's a pretty blanket statement to suggest that intelligence has to correspond with knowledge of current events.
Second, anyone who has ever taken a general communication class knows how easy it is to get a college degree.
Where did I say anyone was stupid?
I was using pro athletes as an example. If you don't want to take it fine. Take a poll amonsget your local college athletes and if they have politics, they will most likely be Republicans. I suggest you actually do some research and talk to some college students before you get pissed off and start an argument. If anyone is looking stupid here(replying to your second post here because you apparently can't work the edit button), it's you because you are being overly PC about something you clearly don't know about.

My brother currently plays for the Texas Longhorns ( My father also played ) I have another brother that is a football coach for a small college. So, yes.... I would say that I know clearly what happens in the lives of college athletes. My Brother is in fact a DEMOCRAT who voted for KERRY, who will also graduate with a degree in kinetics. MY father graduated with a degree in law while playing football. Neither one of them were stupid and knew what was happening with their surroundings. Many of my brothers team mates are getting an education all while playing football, I am sure that many of them voted.
Your just whining because you made a fucking blanket statement that made no sense, someone questioned you about it and this is your way to reply... I'm sensitive and can't use the edit button? Pretty cute!

20. Well Congrats and thank you for being real information to the argument |
|
See, no you have something. Congrats to your dad for being able to play football and go to law school. That's quite a tough accomplishment. Once again, I never said anyone was stupid. I don't know why you keep on bringing that up. Although in your father's time, I think we can both agree that college football was not what it is now. It did not take up the students lives as much as it does now. The NFL didn't use to get as much press as today's college games do. I'm glad your brother's a Democrat. A Texas Democrat makes it even better. I was simply going from my experience with 99% of college athletics. I couldn't be happier that your family bucks the trend. Bye for now!
