Megan Slankard - Freaky Little Story
Joseph Arthur - Our Shadows Will Remain
Best Of Simon And Garfunkel (unfortunately, my aunt got me the wrong S&G for Christmas - the Old Friends live album which isn't even a good live album. So I ordered this best of myself.)

Haven't gotten the CDs yet, but I know I'll love them. I even put the first 2 CDs in my favorite CDs of 2004 list based only on clips.

It's been a long time since someone said "purchase" and "album" in the same sentence.

Seriously, I did buy Richard Buckner's "Dents & Shells." I'm a big fan of file-sharing, but I don't download Indies.

12. AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
and I got it dirt cheap on eBay.

Also purchased Neil Diamond's The Jazz Singer, The Orlons All Their Hits, Olivia Newton-John's Gaia, Laid Back's Laidest Greatest (White Horse) and Dave Matthews Under The Table & Dreaming - - all on eBay. Ok, yes, I have a very wide range of musical interests.

I also sold a bunch this week (on eBay and Amazon). I'm finally getting around to selling off my CD collection and filling in my MP3 library with stuff that's been missing. It was my "end-of-the-year" project that I'm still finishing.

So glad you asked!

128. Super Audio Compact Disc
5.1 surround sound, absolutely insane frequency response, higher bitrate, etc

requires a very expensive player and the whole home theater setup unforunately.

recent complete album(s) which I downloaded (and paid for) were "Level Headed" by Sweet ("Love Is Like Oxygen") and "Vincebus Eruptum" by Blue Cheer ("Summertime Blues") - both on the same day.

I know, I have execrable taste in music! :puke: :silly:

84. That's the consensus pick by most people
Too by the numbers for me though.Great riffs and stuff, and I do like it a lot,but pretty basic stuff.I have the same problem with the new one also.I'm into more elaborate or experimental song structures than I used to be.

89. I like it more for nostalgic reasons
I understand what you are saying. I like experimental song structures more live then on a recording. I tend to go with structured basic stuff when listening to CDs. some of the melodious power pop punk I listen to now would probably make many purists cringe (ie. pennywise). I have never listened to the Ministry CD you picked as your favorite. I will have to check it out.

143. Definately check out "Mind"
It was their "breakthrough" disc, in many respects. On "Mind", the "real" (organic) instruments came to the forefront, while the synths and electronics became more of an ambiance. It was one of the first "industrial" records that moved away from electronica and more toward hardcore/metal end.

It's also my favorite Ministry disc, too. I also really like the one before it, "Land of Rape and Honey". Oh, and also check out The Revolting Cocks' "Beers, Steers & Queers". If you've never heard of RevCo, it's basically the same guys in Ministry plus Luc Van Acker, but the songs tend to me more humorous. After all, how could you possibly not like a band who put out a live album called "You Goddamned Son of a Bitch"? :)

the bonus tracks are "Dance Of The Dawn" and "Giants Under The Sea". I listened to it in bed and fell asleep(not because of the music, it was just bedtime!),so I don't remember how they sounded. I'm listening to "Close To The Edge" all the time now,so I'll have to listen to TFTO again to remember how the bonus tracks sounded.

...but it's a little different from his earlier stuff, much more rock oriented. He has the rhythym section from Living Colour, Bernie Worrell from Parliament/Funkadelic on keyboards, plus Dr. Know from the Bad Brains(!) on guitar. I think it's a really brave, diverse CD, quite psychedelic in some ways and experimental.
