Funny bumpersticker
This morning on the way to work a bumper sticker I saw brought a smile to my face. I noticed it from afar as being a "Don't mess with Texas" sticker. But as I drove closer I saw that something was different about it. Driving closer I saw that the n't was blackened so it read "Do Mess With Texas"

And I live in South Carolina so every liberal leaning sticker or I sign I see I am all too happy to see.

1. Support Our oops
The other day, I saw someone with a bumper sticker that originally said "Support Our Troops" They used colored markers to blank out the "tr" leaving a sticker that said "Support Our oops". All too true.

2. Howdy SCDem
If the n't were not blackened out what would you have done? Would you have messed with them?

:hi:

4. Nah
You should know that's not my style! But if I do see people in this red state driving with liberal leaning bumper stickers on I do try to get in front of them and let them see my array of like-minded liberal bumperstickers and hope that it let's them know they are not alone and that we do need to keep fighting the good fight here in South Carolina!

Are you as bored at work as I am right now? I am already prepared for my 10:00 class and have nothing to do except wait and play around on the computer.

My biggest dilemma right now is the form I must fill out and return in nine days: Staff Plans for 2005-06.

Be nice to me now... I'm currently a member of the 700 Club O8)

7. Yep pretty bored
Hehehe your staff plans for 2005-2006 should be easy! Turn in a blank page seeing that you will not be there but at FMU!

You want mercy for being a 700 member?!?! Never!

10. There were four choices on the form...
1. I plan to return next year.

2. I do not plan to return next year.

3. I am not certain of employment plans for next year.

4. Other (please explain).

I selected both three and four. Then I wrote out a short explanation about what I have done and whoever offers the contract first can have me. The deadline for contracts at FMHS is 15 April (there or about).

Please! Show me some mercy! I need it. :-(

P.S. Thanks for providing me with the opportunity to make these posts to help make my way out of this 'club'.

6. I do the same thing here in Texas!
When I see an anti-Bush sticker (or Kerry Edwards), I pull alongside them with a big smile on my face, point to their back bumper and give a thumbs up!

I always get a big smile in return.

We need all the left-leaning encouragement we can get. :-)

8. Great sticker!
Hi SCDem! :hi: I used to live in Columbia, SC and my husband is from LAURENS(backwoods), SC so we definitely know the feeling whenever we see stickers like that on the road. It does make you feel better to see that you aren't the only one on the road with a 'brain'! We now live in Raleigh, and I was SICK to death of seeing that stupid oval sticker that says "W '04" on every SUV as I drove to work every morning so I now have this sticker on my car:

I still have my J squared (John and John!) oval sticker in 04 because I was, like you so sick of the Dubya stickers.

11. Where did you get that sticker? (Wacko)
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 09:55 AM by Dzimbowicz
I would like to get one.

I, too, used to live in Columbia. As a matter of fact, it is home for me. In which part of town did you live?

12. Here is the link
to the cafepress site where you can get the sticker that says it all:

http://www.cafepress.com/irregulargoods.13205176

I bought during the campaigning and got many nasty looks while driving to work everyday. LOL! I get more thumbs up and laughs from people that pass me or have stopped next to me at the red light now. :D

Yeah, I pretty much did most of my 'growing up' in Columbia. I graduated high school and went to college (briefly) at USC. My family lives in northeast Columbia, past the Spring Valley area. I lived in the Forest Acres area with my husband before we moved up here to Raleigh. What part of town did you live in? I really miss Columbia sometimes. I do like living here in Raleigh, but all of our family and friends still there trying to remain 'sane' in that VERY red state!

16. Thanks for the link
I grew up in the Lake Katherine area (Brennan School, Hand Middle School, Dreher High... then there was the riot and I transferred to Cardinal Newman). After I returned from the Marines I lived near the university (Henderson St and later Barnwell St.), then I moved to Shandon (Duncan St.).

My father currently lives in Spring Valley, but is building a new house near Richland Mall.

I currently reside in Rock Hill (yuck!!!), but I need this job right now. I am so homesick for Columbia I cannot stand it.

:hi:

13. Sticker I never got: "America Bless God"
Is this some sort of hoax, or do people take it seriously?

14. I found this
that I guess 'explains' what that sticker is supposed to mean:

Special Offer
"America, Bless God!" Bumper Sticker

People everywhere are saying, "God, bless America." You see the phrase on bumper stickers and billboards across the nation. Turn on your TV or radio and you’ll hear it at almost every commercial break. Yet, most people will agree that God has already blessed America.

So, instead of saying, "God, bless America," what we should be saying is, "America, bless God!" Consider the fact that we are the most prosperous nation on earth. However, as Abraham Lincoln once said, "We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God."

America, it’s time to turn back to God. Help spread the word. Place this free bumper sticker on your car, in your shop window or anywhere else you think the message will reach others. While you’re at it, order a few for your friends. Together, let's help God turn the tragedy of September 11th into a tool that will bring Americans back to their Creator and Founder.
