14. tom waits has a great voice
...i'd take his over any of those other people, who think singing is just hitting the highest note you possibly can. He uses his voice in so many different ways it becomes another essential instrument to the music...most vocalists are interchangeable, but not him.

Can you imagine those songs being sung by someone with a great voice? I think their power would be diminished considerably.

97. i liked him better in the 80s
when he has a distinctive twang to his singing. the way he tries to sing pitch perfect and pretty these days is boring

When I'm out walking I strut my stuff
Yeah and I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite and I just might
Stop to check you out

Let me go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands I know you're the one

Body in beads I stain my sheets
I don't even know why
My girlfriend she's at the end
She is starting to cry

Let me go on
Like a blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands I know you're the one

Geddy Lee. To me, He sounds as if someone has his testes in a vice. It's kinda sad, Rush is very pagan-like in their lyrics, and I can't stand to listen to them because of Geddy Lee.

102. My first thought was Geddy Lee...
but you've named some real contenders in this thread...Dylan, Corgan, Bolton....all heave-O-riffic!

My husband says Springsteen circa "Born in the USA" as well. A voice that was good, till he blew it out...and THEN became an icon. :wtf:

And then there's the plethora of under-bite rockers these days...the Nickelback-Creed-Godsmack types...blah. :puke:

116. 100 posts here and no one has mentioned Robert Plant?
I cannot stand Mick Jagger or Rod Stewart either.
I never cared for Bono, and even Bob Seeger, Tom Petty and Bruce had to grow on me. Dylan wins hands down, but he is before my time.
Then again, I like Bolton. The first time I heard him he was a heavy metal singer doing the great song "everybody's crazy".
