I've been thinking of compiling a CD of the best dance songs from the 70s, though I don't really know a lot of them. (I wasn't born in that era yet! ;-)) It sounds cool. So, any good suggestions?
Thanks!

2. I have several "Sounds of the Seventies" CD's |
|
I have 1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, and 1977. Each one has 19 or 20 songs on it. I can list them for you later if you'd like.:D

5. It is hard for me to be chronological |

I am pretty sure that some early Van Halen was in the 1970s. I also found that Donna Summer's "Last Dance" got people out on the floor. I cannot be sure that that was not 1980s either. Mike Meyers had fun with the Bay City Rollers S-A-TUR-DAY Night, and Grand Funk Railroad did a version of the Locomotion in the 1970s. I think Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" may be from the 1970s. If not "Katmandu" surely is. Others that come to mind. I've got the music in me - Kiki di Fool for the city - Foghat I'm alright - Kenny Loggins Your mama don't dance - Loggins and Messina China Grove - Doobie Brothers Walk this way - Aerosmith I wanna Rock and Roll all night - Ki$$ Anytime - Journey Whole lotta Rosie - AC/DC Fat bottomed girls - Queen Band on the Run - Wings Ballroom Blitz - Sweet Smokin' in the boys room - Brownsville Station Dreamboat Annie - Heart Won't get fooled again - Who Turn to Stone - ELO

... and I was able to locate 99% of the songs.
Still searching for "Breakaway" by Watson Beasley, however.
