Poll question: What clique were you in in high school?
I was in the theater geek crowd. Looking back, it was the best place to be. At my 20th reunion this year, I suspect I'll meet very few old friends who became repukes. :-)

5. Artsy group.. But I actually hung out with everyone
Except for the asshole, stuck-up, frat/sorority bound, "we're better than everyone else" group. None of whom were even worth making the effort.

7. Clique of one
mostly. At least I wasn't picked on. I beat up everbody in elementary school.

When I hung with others, it was usually the band or drama.

8. Where are the partiers?
In reality, I wavered between the party crowd, the theater geek crowd, and the intellectual egghead crowd. What can I say, I was always able to multi-task.

12. Same here.
I had my core group but I hung out with the computer geeks during lunch as much as I hung out with the jock crowd after school. Never missed a "kegger."

13. Invisible for a large part
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 06:50 PM by TheCentepedeShoes
Got along well with everyone (teachers and students) and made good grades, but didn't get too involved with activities or social life. Mom fixated on me at about ten years old and the trouble of asking permission to do more life was sometimes just too much.

I wasn't in any clique. Though I was in band and chorus I still was invisible, for the lack of a better word. Had no social life in high school at all. I wanted a job so I could make some $$ to do things, maybe meet somebody but that was forbidden. Definitely not a period of my life I'd want to do over again, at least with this set of parents. But then again I could say that about much of my life.

I pretty much got along with everyone. I am pretty much a social chameleon and can find common ground with almost damn near anyone.

18. Two schools - different cliques
I was a nobody at my public school, but jr and sr year I went somewhere else and was an athlete, partier, arty, and did ok popularity-wise.

19. I was a mutt
I was on the cusp of the popular clique, yet I was academic (my high school was weird - the most popular were also the smartest). I was a band & theater geek, and I dated reasonably cool boys.

I got along with everyone, mostly. I stood up to the mean kids who'd pick on others, so it kinda kept me in an OK neutral position.

23. I went to a really artsy school
so the cliques were a bit different. There were chorus people, band people, art people, theatre people, academic people, invisible people, and, lest ye forget, the string people (as in symphony - not cheese). But, no athletes . . . no teams . . .nothing.

I was mostly into visual arts - they had the most fun with recreational activities and fashion.

30. no clique no group..
I was kicked around treated like trash in the 8th and 9th grades..but this only made me stronger. In my last year of high school I didn't rely just on my friends to vote for me, I didn't just ask rich or poor, popular or unpopular students for votes..I asked them all! I was constantly told I couldn't get elected class President...when the votes came in I won more votes than all my opponents combined.

I learned a simple lesson from my only political campaign for office, treat others as you wish to be treated..and you can win any election.:grouphug:
