OK....WHO'S COLD... WHO'S ASS DEEP IN SNOW?
Man...it's cold here in Kansas City.

Snow, freezing rain.

It took me almost an hour to scrape the ice off of my car just so I could go get some milk and other essentials.

Slid through an intersection on my way back home.
It's like 13 degrees and wind chill is -4.

It ain't cold enough in America with the monkey in charge, now the weather has to match the current political climate.

Man...

On nights like tonight, I thank GOD I have a job, a warm place to sleep tonight, and food in the fridge.

Having been on the streets in Denver, with no place to go at this time of year back in the 80's...

I think I'll consider myself lucky tonight.

I bet you the monkey never missed a meal or was cold at night.

Asshole.

By the way, I hope there is a PARALYZING blizzard, with bitter cold temperatures the weekend of the inauguration, and the monkeys party is ruined.

Asshole.

.
and I even slept comfortably with the window open last night--in January! Usually the lows in January here are in the mid-20s.

We set a record high in the area yesterday--it was like an early summer day. Weird.

2. Clelveland is pretty socked in right now.
The only vehicles on the road are the snow plows dumping huge amounts of salt that are not even cutting it.
We lived north of KC for years, I do remember those ice storms well.
Pray for those out in the elements tonight.

7. It's not particularly cold in Chicago
But the wind has created a whiteout and we're supposed to get hit hard starting in a half hour. We have about four inches on the ground at the moment....it's supposed to snow heavily from 8 to 2 a.m.

9. Oh, man... you know how you do a half ass job scraping and defrosting....
when you are in a hurry-- and generally get by with it? Well, it is so cold in Denver, that the windows totally steamed/froze right back up as I was heading east from Golden on Hwy 6/6th Ave. I could not see ANYTHING and ended up in the left lane when i thought I was tracking the right lane and desperately trying to get off at the exit. Luckily for me, I think whoever was behind me, realized I had a problem and held back until I could get over. Boy, I won't do THAT again (at least in zero/subzero weather!)

11. ice and snow here
Should I attempt to go to work tomorrow? I have to drive down a curvy road that follows a river that is flooding with the ice accumulation and the snow on the damn road...we keep switching back and forth between snow and ice.
I hate my job anyway...is it worth it?? Although here in Ohio if i get fired I will probably never find another job..

13. Where at in Ohio are you?
I'd at least attempt to get to work and if it looks to treacherous I'd turn back and tell the boss it's a no go. I'm a trucker and one of the things they always tell us during a safety meeting is that no load is worth your life.

18. Near BG
It was horrible today...I left around 3...and had to go about 30..because it was sooo icy and covered in snow. And yes I do have one those gas guzzling SUV's because I could never even get out of my driveway in the Winter. Right now were getting the ice that is pelting the house window and the wind isn't helping. 75 looked like it was moving a bit quicker, but on the 5:00 news they slowed way down.

23. I go right by there in my daily route
I go from Dayton up to Toledo and back when everything is cool with my route. I haven't run that way for the past few weeks because the customer that I haul for closed down for the holidays and are just now getting back up and running. I think they may send me up that way tomorrow. I hope they have the roads clear by then.

12. Just rain so far in southwestern Ohio
Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 09:36 PM by Droopy
The temperature has been hovering at 36 all day, so I'm hoping it doesn't drop down a few degrees because with the amount of rain we've been getting it would paralize us if it were to turn to snow or freezing rain.

I went up to southern Michigan last night/this morning for my job and they were getting hit pretty hard up there. There was about two inches on the ground and they were expecting as much as a foot. I'm glad I got out of there when I did. The roads were covered with snow and there wasn't enough traffic to activate the salt really well that the plows had dumped on the road. This was in rural Michigan. I was back on some two lane roads and could not tell where my lane was or where the edge of the road was. I had to get by using the force. Luckily everybody I saw out there on the roads was taking it pretty easy.

19. Better get to the grocery store while you can, hickman
And fuel up that car while you're at it, too. The day after we got hit with that big storm that dumped 16 inches on us here, the gas stations were running out of gas because they couldn't get their deliveries through.

Edited on Wed Jan-05-05 09:35 PM by norml
Tonight's my night off, but I'll be back to delivering pizzas tomorrow night. Traffic crawls on the main streets. The side streets are filled with stuck cars. There's almost two feet of snow on the ground.

17. Same here, I'm in Northeast Ohio.
Snow, ice, snow, cold, snow, icy streets, snow, digging cars out from under tons of snow and ice, snow, freezing our asses off, oh, and did I mention SNOW!

Actually, I can't really complain all that much since the past few days before the snow hit yesterday have been unseasonably warm, in the 50's, with no snow, wind, ice, or cold. I took a walk on New Year's Day and didn't even need a coat, something that's NEVER happened at this time in this area before, at least not in my memory.

My birthday was Monday the 3rd, and it was the first time in memory that there was no snow or blizzards and that it was actually in the 50s, I couldn't believe it. Didn't even seem like my birthday, since I'm so used to snow and bad weather on that day, birthday dinners getting postponed or cancelled, etc.
