2. Gee I missed all the "Terror alerts" of 2002, 3, and 4 |
|
Why do you suppose they stopped? Every holiday has been Code Orange until this one.

13. Even my 10 yr old son realized it... |

I have always left my tree up for a couple of weeks after Christmas. I'm taking it down tomorrow. It's as beautiful as ever, but I just don't want to look at it.
We didn't go see lights like we always do. As a matter of fact, there weren't any of the usual huge light displays out, so we had nothing to go see.
There wasn't the usual hustle bustle at the mall. Very little "cheer." No one--NO ONE--who used to be on my dad's mail route baked cookies and brought them to him, and they have done this EVERY YEAR since he retired. Even the lady who always makes Martha Washingtons (his favorite--a delish coconut and dark chocolate candy) didn't drop by, and she has done this for the past twenty years, I know.
I didn't shop like I usually do. Our tree looked barren underneath, and it wasn't because I didn't have the money, it's because I just wanted Christmas to hurry up and be over with.
No big cantatas at the churches around here. No nativity scenes set up in the median of the road east of town where they usually are.
I don't know WHY it was this way, but it is like Christmas passed and no one cared, not even the fundies, except for them obligatorily attending the Christmas eve sermon.
