Poll question: Best Peter Greenaway Film |
|
I love his films but understand why some people hate them. Anyone else here a fan?
I own them all and after I show one to a friend, they never come back to my house.

I love his stuff, though I can't pick just one.
Maybe "The Pillow Book." "Zed" was really sick & fascinating. They're all a wild ride, though I didn't really care for "The Draughstman's Contract."
A lot of people can't stand him. I like twisted ficks.

4. The Draughstman's Contract requires |

pretty intense concentration to follow. I think Zed or Drowning is my favorite. 8 ½ Women is the only one I really didn't care for. The father son incest was a bit much. His soundtracks are generally outstanding. Love Michael Nyman.

6. I actually liked "The Draughtsman's Contract" |
|
Although I got a headache from trying to follow it. It took a couple of days before I realized what I had seen.

So strange and so *very* British. And I'm from there so I should know.
IME most people who like Peter Greenaway like the first one they see of his best...
Perhaps one day I shall write and put up my Peter Greenaway parody script.

3. I was about to vote for "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife, & Her Lover" |
|
...but then I saw that you had a "pretentious British crap" option.
I couldn't resist.
