When you really think about it, clapping is the silliest damn thing |
|
If anyone from outer space ever looked down and saw our method of applauding something, they'd laugh their asses off. What is it with people smacking their two hands together when they get excited, like a bunch of seals? It's stupid looking, almost like something primitive. I do it as much as anyone, though

I used to think I was the only one who thought things like that.

6. In that case, I think we should replace clapping with dancing |
|
for one year. That would be too cool. Imagine a crowd of people watching a comedian and getting up outta their seats and dancing in place everytime he said something funny. If he got funnier and funnier, they could dance faster and wilder!

13. If this were the case, I'm sure there would be MANY more |

comedians willing to take the stage.
But not me. Nope.
*whistles, looks at ground, kicks a stone, then whistles some more*
Nope. No-sir-ee.

Can't think of a better alternative, but there have been occasions, during a session of applause, when it suddenly dawned on me: "Wow, clapping is really fucking weird."

11. Imagine if you were one of the first |

There you are, clapping away. The rest of the crowd is looking at you and saying "what the heck is he doing?" You have to admit it is one of the most effective non-vocal ways of making noise. Nobody knows why though. http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/mar2002/1016034810.Ev.r.html

Clapping is pretty doofy. I see I'm not alone in my strange and random questions about the oddities and stupidities of life.
