Sick as a dog, but he performed like a trooper. That whole last album, Innuendo, was a wonder. His voice was so strong, and the songs were so meaningful for the first time in a while. I wish more Americans had gotten the chance to listen to it.

I read somewhere that by the time they recorded that track, he was so weak, he could only sing a line or two at a time without resting, and the band stood by him, patiently, for hours as he laid the vocal tracks.
