What living band would you like to see reunite for one last tour? |
|
I'd like to see Bread. I know it may sound dumb, but I really liked them :)
I'd see Styx too if Dennis DeYoung was with them.
I finally got to see Simon and Garfunkel last year.
I can't think of any others off the top of my head.

5. I was just going to say Styx |
|
That's the first thing that popped into my head when I read your subject line. If Styx would get back together (the real Styx -- JY Young, Tommy Shaw, Dennis DeYoung, Chuck Panozzo) and DeYoung, Shaw and Young would collaborate on some new tunes in their old style, no crappy Beatles covers, then that'd be awesome. I think there's a couple of really big egos in the way though (DeYoung and Shaw).

28. Eh, a bit 2-sided on this one... |
|
.. On one side, they really put on some high-energy shows. On the other, they were one of the bands back in 2000, that told young people not to vote, because Gore & * were the same.

21. well, andy partridge is about all that's left.... |
|
....with the fuzzy warble releases, it's pretty clear that colin moulding is now just a "sometime collaborator" vis a vis XTC.
i got to meet both of them twice. despite my complete geeked-out bliss, they were quite lovely and nice to me.

11. Spock's Beard with Neal Morse; Genesis (any 70s lineup) |
|
They still rock hard without him, but I never got to see them live with him. :(
As for Genesis, I'm not one of those types who thinks Genesis was worthless after Gabriel left, so I'd love to see either of the 70s lineups back together. Actually, I think I'd really like to see the Hackett/Rutherford/Banks/Collins/Bruford lineup.

i would pay about any amount to see a performance of the same quality as 'stop making sense,' one of the best concert films ever.
speaking of concert films, it would be great fun to see The Band too.

I just gotta here hear that song "My Sharona" performed one more time. I loved that fractured beat and stuttering, sputtering lyrics. That was the coolest song.

Gabriel, Banks, Rutherford, Collins and Hackett.
Was way to young to ever see them at their peak and it would be a blast to see the stage show with Gabriel's costumes.

That's right, Nirvana, sans-Cobain. Dave Grohl could be the lead guitar/vocals, Chris Novoselic would be the bass, Pat Smear would be the other guitar and former drummer Chad Channing would play drums.
I'd love to see that. Nirvana was more than just Kurt, you know. They say Grohl was the whole brains behind the band.
