I made to much. That is the problem with being a good cook and single.

1. yep, they just get a bit mushier
I make up big batches of my special burrio beans (black beans, pintos, tomatos, peppers, spices etc) in the crock pot and then freeze them in small containers. works like a charm

2. Yes. I do it all the time.
Divind them up, put them in a freezer bag or container. Next time you want beans you just have to reheat them!

Frozen ones are better to use as taco or enchilada fillings or in soups and casseroles.

I cook a huge amount whenever I can get some fresh epazote.

That's a Mexican herb that smells really awful but gives the most marvellous flavor to black beans.

when you defrost them and eat them, make sure you refer to them as "has beans" ...
