Did anyone watch "The Lyon's Den" last night?
I watched it and was impressed with it right off the bat, even if it was a little hard to follow at first. After the first 30 minutes or so, I started getting into it a little bit. I think this thing might be a hit and Rob Lowe was on top of his game. You can't be too hard on him for leaving The West Wing.

Anybody else have any opinions?

1. I had a hard time paying attention ...
to it.

I thought it was a political show (spin off from West Wing), but I guess not. Found myself flipping to "JackAss" re-runs.

Cheers
Drifter

2. I couldn't follow it and after the first ten minutes
I tuned out. After watching Alias, which is action packed, the Lyons Den was like watching paint dry.

3. Agreed...
it was hard to follow. I hope that once I get into the characters and figure them out it might start to make more sense. I was able to loosely piece together the plot in my head as I was watching but that was about it.

I love that show because you never know what the next scene will bring, they are always surprising you.

I want Syd to make Vaughn suffer really bad for his marriage, at least for a little while. They are a very sexy couple, on screen and off screen.

And I did see the Lyon's Den, it has to get better with time, I hope. It did not really hold my attention.

5. Hard to follow? Huh?
So the time sequences were purposefully aligned in such a manner as to make it more interesting. It wasn't all that complex.

He's some associate at a law firm. Former gov't guy, general do-gooder.

Managing partner commits suicide (Que ominous tones.... Or does he?!?!?!).

Junior partner is shown being a scumbag and scheming to get the old guy's position, with secretary.

Lowe is suggested as replacement. Jaws drop. Scheming begings. Dirt searched for by blackmail with scheming JP making associate do the dirty work.

She is ethical 5 year dry drunk. Can't bring herself to do it, starts drinking again.

Silly Nigerian subplot with annoying characters intermixed.

Police Homicide detective (Hey! My kinda guy!) suggests possibly old guy was murdered.

Fade to black.

6. Den
It got my attention. I have been waiting for something to get my attention. I really liked it. I have stopped watching West Wing. I read somewhere that West Wing is going to be more Repub friendly. So I will not watch that. But I could watch anything with Rob Lowe in it. It will catch on.

8. I snapped it off angrily after thirty-five minutes.
Rob Lowe's first lines were basically, 'I'm not Sam Seaborn and this is not The West Wing. I'm not Sam Seaborn and this is not The West Wing.' The character set ups were clumsy. 'Hi, I'm sleazy office playboy, cheating on my wife.' What, was Jay Mohr not available to take the role? The writing leftmuch to be desired.

I clicked off the tv after hearing the brother of the brain-damaged guy doing his 'it shoulda been ME' speech. Too frickin' much, man. Oh well, if the show doesn't succeed, Rob Lowecould return to The West Wing as part of the Orange Country Congressman story line.
