Still thinking about a job or paid internship in politics.
I would like to do some work to get my foot in the door. I would like to think I kind of have done so when I worked on the Salazar campaign. But, I still have an extreme fear of failure. I can't go back to grad school in the spring. My grades were not good enough. I am afraid to put myself out there for a job and God I want to move forward, but I have not really been able to do that for 2 years. I'm scared. I am so scared that I won't be able to make anything work in my life.

1. may I suggest a tape course in Positive Thinking??
if you believe you are a failure, then you are

you need to work on believing you are a success!

what's the worst thing that could happen? Failure? if you don't fail or ever make a mistake, you aren't trying IMHO

my failures have taught me more about myself and my abilities than most of my successes

get out there and try. if you fail.... just try again :)

pick up Wayne Dyers book "Your Erroneous Zones" and go from there....

2. do you have a support group? friends, whatever????
find dems holding office or working for the party or planning to run and volunteer your time

in IA, what I saw years ago.....people in both parties volunteered for a candidate; if the candidate won, they finagled a way on to the staff....at some point they ran for that person's position when that person moved up in the party

seems to me, the number one priority is to find a support group who can enable you to have confidence in yourself

anyone you met in school, maybe someone on the school staff?

for many at DU this is a major turnoff, but where you are right now is when a positive, supportive church group can help......if this idea isn't a total turnoff, maybe you could try.....Unitarian, United Church of Christ (the denomination with the inclusive ads)

3. Of course your life can work. Work on the 2006 campaign of your choice.
Take any job for now. Build some confidence. Go easy on yourself.
