2. I prefer "Time" or "Echoes"
It pretty much is true about how we see life.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then the one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
And racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in the relative way, but you're older
And shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desparation in the English way
The time is gone the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

4. Ya know... an album that helped me through the crazy years was
Meddle.... what a powerful mood maker that was.. still is!!!! More people should get these albums and light up their minds.....

Pink Floyd - A Pillow Of Winds Lyrics

A cloud of eiderdownDraws around meSoftening a sound.Sleepy time,
and I lie,With my love by my side,And she's breathing low.
And the candle dies.
When night comes downYou lock the door. The book falls to the
floor. As darkness fallsThe waves roll by,The seasons changeThe
wind is wry.
Now wakes the hourNow sleeps the swanBehold the dreamThe dream
is gone.Green fields are callingIt's falling, in a golden door.
And deep beneath the ground,The early morning soundsAnd I go
down.Sleepy time, and I lie,With my love by my side,And she's
breathing low.
And I rise, like a bird,In the haze, when the first raysTouch
the sky.
And the night wings die.

Pink Floyd - San Tropez Lyrics

As I reach for a peach
Slide a rind down behind
The sofa in San Tropez.
Breakin' a stick
with a brick on the sand.
Ridin' a wave
In the wake of an old sedan.

Sleepin' alone in the
Drone of the darkness,
Scratched by the sand that
Fell from my love,
Deep in my dreams and I
Still hear her callin'
"If you're alone,
I'll come home."

Backward and homebound,
The pigeon, the dove,
Gone with the wind
And the rain, on an airplane.
Owning a home
With no silver spoon,
I'm drinking champagne
Like a good tycoon.

Sooner than wait for
A break in the weather,
I'll gather my far-flung
Thoughts together.
Speeding away
On the wind to a new day.
And if you're alone
I'll come home.

And I pause for a while
By a country style
And listen to the things they say.
Diggin' for gold
With a hoe in my hand.
Open a book
Take a look at the way things stand.

And you're leading me down
To the place by the sea.
I hear your soft voice
Calling to me.
Making a date for
Later by phone
And if you're alone
I'll come home.

11. Meddle could have been their greatest album
but that one track(i can't recall the name right now) just ruins the whole flow for me. The one with the barking dogs.

14. Yes,thank you....
I thought I was the only one who thought Meddle was a great album.

I was the only freak in high school that thought Meddle was the best Pink Floyd album. Everybody always says Dark Side or The Wall, but there really isn't a better compilation of songs than that album. I used to put that album on every night to fall asleep to. It's so great and mellow. :smoke:

"Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time

I finally understood what he was talking about. Years just fly by now that I'm older. It's really weird.

Edit: Oops.. I meant to respond to post 2. I blame the mods for moving the post. :)

12. Wait
Learning To Fly was more recent ... was it really on a 45?

It's from 1987, on 'A Momentary Lapse of Reason'

or did they have an earlier title by the same name.

My favorite was the UmmaGumma album. I wore out the grooves on that one!

13. I'm pretty sure I have it but finding it is another thing.
My sister bought it for me because we always used to see the cool song on MtV and it was also a very cool video.

I think Tower Records used to sell 45s up until around 1990 or so.

Some ePay dude has it for $2.00 buy it now + $2.75 shipping.
