1. 'Cause Carolyn Jones was such a HOT chickiebabe as Morticia!

That's why! Yvonne DeCarlo was okay in her earlier years, but by the time the Munsters rolled around, she was showing her age.

Just because I'm partial to a book of Charles Addams cartoons we've had for ages. The TV show though, isn't nearly as demented as the cartoons. :crazy:

I loved it's wierdness- and the show caught some of it. The Addams family was vastly superior to the Munsters, IMHO. Lurch, Thing, Cousin It, Morticia's flesh -eating Cleopatra plant and last but not least John Astin's insane leer.

Besides, the Addams family came out first. They were original, Munsters looked like previously existing monsters.

Morticia as portrayed by Carolyn Jones was WAY sexy, and John Astin as Gomez was such a GLEEFUL MANIAC...Plus all the rest..THING. LURCH, etc.

This was way cool stuff in 1964....and still is, i think....

The Munsters was OK, but it was clearly a copycat of the Addaams Family. And the Addams Family had better characters, gags, story lines, and actors.

18. Addams... BUT, Munsters get props for cool cars and bands!

Big Daddy Roth's Munsters cars were waaay boss. Plus, there's an episode where proto-punk garage rockers The Standells appear (playing wimpy Beatles covers, but still cool)

I guess both had their moments.
