Best album of 2004: Round 2
Someone posted this the other night & I really didn't have a response. Nothing really grabbed me in 2004. But a friend brought a copy of Luna's "Rendezvous" over the other night. So now I have my answer:

Amazing.

What was your favorite of last year?

1. Their swan song
I was so disappointed in their last several that I didn't bother with this one. Guess I should pick this up - I keep hearing good stuff.

My fave of the year was Camper Van Beethoven, New Roman Times. Fantastic CD.

yes, it is truly amazing. The only thing in recent memory that has creeped into my soul.

Sometimes has almost an old Feelies vibe to it. Really sublime - pick it up :hi:

he put his life in a few songs if you'd care to watch it,
livin low budget like the Blair Witch Project...

Rather sickening ones, too. Dig:

So by all means, steal - don't pay for - their music.

27. Yes, yes it does.
In fact, by RIAA standards, overhearing it when the neighbors play it too loudly constitutes stealing.

33. Hey Phish fan...
You liked the Coventry shows that much? I mean, they were fun and sentimental but the playing was, to put it lightly - subpar imo.

Otherwise your list is pretty interesting. I especially agree with American Idiot and SMiLE. Great stuff...

31. Mark Lanegan Band- "Bubblegum"
and Franz Ferdinand's CD. I didn't buy too many new CDs this past year, so I don't have much criteria to work with. I did think that the new CDs by the Hives and Wilco were letdowns, though.

I dislike 80's music and am not into gothy synth-pop stuff, but it's just so well done...produced, written, performed. I can't get enough.
