No, goddammit, I don't want to play online casino games...
I have anti pop-up software installed on my pc here and at home.

But even with that, I keep getting pop-ups. And these fucking online casino ones are the worst.

Is there an ultra pop-up killer kind of software that can get rid of these things?

Thanks
T

12. AOL?
Well that would explain a lot. You probably have IM installed and you have probably managed to get weatherbug installed as well, along with the rest of the hideous nonsense AOL installs with IM. (Its called a drive-by install: you agree to install program A, you also get B, C, D, E etc without your knowledge.)

Uninstall weatherbug. (Better yet get rid of AOL, but I'm guessing that is not an option for you.) Get a good spyware disinfector, Forget about AOL's. Ad-aware seems to work pretty well. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Firefox is ok too - it does cut down on popups, but it has some of its own issues. My system with XPSP2 and its firewall and no-AOL anything has no popups at all with either exploder or tirefox.

2. Run Firefox
I can't run it here (our OS is too old), but I'm running it at home and it completely kills pop ups.

4. Use Firefox instead of Explorer
Popups be gone.

Lots of other cool features, too.

8. I played online strip poker once.
But it was on IRC, so we had to go by the honor system. And I have a sneaking suspicion that Chloe, the 19-year-old redhead with perfect tits may not have actually been who she said she was.

9. It's shocking that some people would misrepresent themselves online..
Some of my cherished illusions were completely destroyed after I came to that realization.

I think your suspicions about Chloe may be correct ones. Sad, isn't it?

13. You need more than anti pop-up software.
The basics are of course Anti-Virus and Firewall software, and using your ISP and browser capabilities to shut down all malicious 'invaders', including pop-ups.

Past that, you need Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware SE Personal, SpywareBlaster (all free, and available @ www.download.com).

Based on the reported behavior, you *may* have gotten a 'browser hijack', though. If you install and run all of the above, keep them updated, and are still getting pop-ups, then that might be the case. Stronger measures (like HijackThis, also free, and/or Pest Patrol, $50) might be called for.

Good luck.
