Funkadelic Appreciation Thread

To my mind, the first three Funkadelic were my absolute faves...some SERIOUS psychedelic sounds...I enjoyed their later releases too, but for me, the first album, Free Your Mind, & Maggot Brain were stunning albums. If I had to pick one, it would be the first album, just because the psychedelic sheen is SO thick.

Every album they released had some great stuff on it...America Eats It's Young, Cosmic Slop, TAles of Kid Funkadelic...all spectacular releases...

As an aside, the first Parliament album called Osmium (later reissued as Rhenium) is also a masterpiece...not as WEIRD as the Funkadelic records, but amazingly creative (the only soul album with bagpipes that I can think of!!!)

I highly recommend going to see him if you ever get the chance. You won't ever see anything else remotely like it.

I've seen him a buncha times...

Always an amazing show...I saw him three times in DC, and the crowd was NUTS!!! Clinton always said his two favorite places to play are DC & Japan...I could see why!!!
