Any Blue Credit Card Companies?
I am looking to dump my current cards and would love to invest in a blue company by getting a card from them.

I checked at buyblue.org but their list is down.

Thanks,
DBDB

1. WorkingAssets has their own card.
They donate a portion of the profit to charities. Sounds like they've got a pretty good APR, too. Here's a link:

2. Amalgamated Bank -- America's Labor Bank
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 02:35 PM by mcscajun
from their website:

"As the only fully union-owned U.S. bank still in operation, Amalgamated Bank remains firmly committed to its role as partner to the labor movement in the twenty-first century. In order to provide services more broadly, the bank has opened branch operations in new locations in New York, as well as New Jersey, Washington, D.C. and, most recently, in California. All of the branches offer the free checking accounts that were first established by Amalgamated Bank in 1973, as well as a full line of individual and commercial banking services."

4. Try local credit unions, too
Credit Unions are essentially co-ops and are supposed to be run for the benefit of the owners - aka - the people who have accounts with them. That generally means their interest rates are better and their fees are lower. I have a credit union Visa card that I've had for going on 25 years. The rate is currently 9% down from 12% when I originally applied. They're great to deal with too because I usually get to talk to local people, not someone in Usbekistan or Sri Lanka.

Caveats - make sure it is an in-house credit card, none of that Elan visa crap my bank keeps handing out. Also, not all credit unions are created equal so do a little investigation. Your experience may vary.

5. Thank you all for your suggestions!
I am going to look into Working Assets and the Credit Union angle

I just got off the phone with Chase and slapped the rep on the head over the phone call I got this AM from them.

It seems I missed a payment, am 32 days out, and owe them $10. The rep that called me basically demanded a payment on the spot to preserve my credit rating. I refused, but made an online payment for tomorrow.

I called to tell them this is bullshit based on my payment and credit history. I must have made two payments a month over the last 4 months totaling 10 times the minimum due on each payment.

I also told them I would be paying off the balances on all three of my cards with them (two personal and one business) and cancelling the accounts.

Assholes.
