Poll question: Who is the worst wingnut "musician".
Quotes around the word musician because it is a term I use loosely.

1. All are bad, sans Nugent
He is a nut, but he's also a damned good guitarist. I won't disparage another's talent simply because I don't agree with their politics.

6. I agree with you about Nugent. He's pretty off-the-wall...
with his social/political stands.
But--damn--that man can play a guitar.

wingnut fringe?

Ted Nugent (by reputation) is a good musician...but a major, MAJOR nutcase of the right-wing persuasion who I wouldn't want to spend an hour with.

But there are more than a few really bad musicians on your wingnut list, really bad...but probably can't share space on the same way-out branch as poor, pathetic Ted.

It's Toby Keith, btw...not Kieth.

but anyway...I figured to vote by politics, not by talent, so I voted for Ted.

5. I can't believe all the votes for Nugent
Yeah, he's a right-wing crazy, but he was a damned good guitarist. He hasn't done much musically since the 80's, but there's no mistaking he has talent as a player.

15. Nugent never had talent, only business sense.
And this is coming from someone who doesn't care about or subscribe to his political views. The same frenzied 4 chords for years, the incessant, over-the-top blues leads and constantly singing about pussy and pussy only should be big hints.

What he did have, in spades, is as ear for what his purchasing public wanted, and an outrageous knack for gonzo showmanship.

That hack couldn't play his way out of a paper bag.

He's even worse than Jerry Garcia (although Garcia led a life of saint-like devotion to charities), and it doesn't get worse than that.

8. Daryl Worley
I think that's his name. "Have you forgotten..Bin Laden?" I couldn't believe that song when I heard it played at a 4th of July picnic. Unbelievable.
By the way, GWB assured us four years ago that, make no mistake, Bin Laden would be smoked out and hunted down.
Mission Accomplished.

$2000. He gave money to fascist Dana Rohrbacher over the years too.

11. Nugent
Although if he had done more songs like "Journey to the Center of the Mind" (with the Amboy Dukes) I might consider giving him a pass.

After reading the article posted about him this morning, that guy from Chevelle sounds like quite the wingnut, too.

13. Could you post the article?
Someone should tell the Chevelle guy if he is a Republican that "This type of thinking could do them in." :)

19. Here's the article

>>If you have a Hummer, you must have supported Bush.

Oh yeah.

Why?

I agree with everything he stands for. I voted for him four years ago. But this election was just plain obvious. The choice was to vote for a politician or vote in a President. Kerry had nothing. The polls of people who voted for Kerry found that they voted for him because he wasn't Bush, which doesn't make sense to me. I don't see why people didn't vote for Bush. I heard, “Well, he went to Iraq and we didn't find weapons of mass destruction.” What? That's why you don't like him. That's all you got. We're saving lives here. We liberated 50 million people and we took Saddam out of power. >>

And that lyric does apply quite well!

20. Yeah. It actually is the title of their latest album.
So, I figured that it applied quite well to them. I actually found them pretty interesting a couple of years ago. When a friend and I listened to his copy of "Wonder What's Next". Sad. I kind of liked them when I heard their music. Though I don't own any of their albums and after reading that, I don't think that I will.

21. So little talent, and so much time--but, gotta go with Nugent
They all are nuts, none have talent, but Nugent is the most obnoxiously self-righteous of the group.
