Anybody here ever use a ceramic hair straightener? |
|
I bought one, and Im not too sure if Im doing it right. I LOVE what it does to my hair, it smooths and straightens both my hair, and my husbands(yes, his is longer than mine :D )
What Im wondering is, if I go over and over my hair(thin, shoulder length blonde) will I burn it up?
Do you like it if you do use one? I found mine for twenty bucks, and I think it works as well as the expensive ones.

You never see them playing contact sports, that's for sure.

4. I use mine as a knife sharpener. |
|
It works wonders on those dull edges on my kitchen knives :)

3. What I do is go over all my hair and come back and do it again. |
|
That way the hair has a chance to cool in between. Blonde hair tends to be finer, is yours? If so, I'd let it cool a bit in between swipes.
I use the cheap $20 one now, too! I had an expensive one that burned up and didn't work much better.

And, that makes TWO sexy smart Dems in Texas!:hi:
I do a slow steady swipe, and yes, blonde and fine hair is what I got.
I was just afraid I was going TOO slow, and might singe it.

8. Slow steady swipe should be fine. |
|
Feel your hair as you move down it. If it too hot to touch without burning your finger your doing damage. That always a good rule of thumb.

7. If my hair would look like your's when it's curly... |
|
I wouldn't straighten it either. You have beautiful curls! Mine varies from like yours to frizzy loose curls. x(

9. Sweetie - that is so kind of you to say, but believe me - |
|
it's not been easy. All the cute hair styles are for people with straight hair. And, I call myself the human barometer!
BTW - Is it me, or have others told you that you look like Peggy Flemming? - it might just be the picture that you posted.

Weather changes are a real nightmare on curls. You're right about the hairstyles, too. They are all designed around straight hair. I guess if you have curls they figure you already have a style. :)
I really do like your hair, even if it's a pain in your butt.
You're talking about the pic of me and my daughter? That one is what I look like 95% of the time. It's my me look.. Can't say I've ever been told I look like Peggy Flemming, but thank you! :)

Its a Vidal Sassoon, and 19.99 was all it cost, but Ive seen them higher.
They look kinda like a crimper, and you just clamp onto a section of hair and sliiiiddee..

|
And I've noticed a difference in her hair, it does look nicer and better somehow.

13. Yep and it's fan-fucking-tastic |
|
for someone with naturally curly hair like me.
Since your hair is fine, I would be careful but it should be ok. I have really really thick hair so I just go to town with my straightener.

16. my friend used to get her hair straightened chemically |
|
they used some awful smelling stuff but it worked and then she started having breakage problems, she got a ceramic one and her hair looks a whole lot healthier.

22. I got the Japanese thermal treatment |
|
but it only lasted 3 months on my hair. :-(
The other chemical straighteners are too harsh and they'll ruin your hair.
I love my ceramic flatiron! I have wavy hair, and it makes my locks bone straight.

24. The expensive ones tend to be better at |
|
letting you gage the temperature but they also get hotter so if you have thin hair it's not worth the money.
