Remember that awful website that Dallas PD was contacted on?
Well, I just got this...

I wanted to touch base with you on what I learned about the website
you sent. A detective from the Internet Crimes Against Children unit
said that they are aware of the sites but are unfortunately are not
illegal.

Thanks for contacting the Dallas Police regarding these websites,
just the same.

Take care,

Allen E. Lash, #6190
Detective
Computer Crimes Squad
Dallas Police Department
214.671.3534

Darn it, I was hoping that if nothing else, CPS would get involved.

1. Kind of what I expected in the long run, it's still pretty damned
disgusting though.

Grrrrr, we did what we could in that regard.

Any ideas on further actions we could take? Maybe a mass e-mail campaign or something?

4. I just can't see CPS not getting involved with this
Maybe some Dallas folks need to call up the local TV station. Not just any TV station either. The one who has the investigative reporter. Every channel in Houston now has one, and they try to out do each other. I know nothing about Dallas TV, so I don't know who the pit bull would be.

6. That doesn't make them right
I realize the girls weren't naked at that site. Tell me this - would you want YOUR twelve year old being objectified for the gratification of pedophiles? This screams that something is wrong at HOME.

13. no you have to delete them yourself thru IE or Firefox options.
but the files can be recovered. Eraser will erase unused disk space so no files can be recovered. Just do not erase the whole drive or you will be deleting everything. Once you install eraser, double click on My Computer and move your mouse to the C drive. Right click and one of your choices should be "ERASE UNUSED SPACE" click on that and the process will start.

5. Kudos to the Detective who let you know

He's a hero and trying to serve his community.

Then, I think we need to start a grassroots campaign to make sites like this illegal. It only takes a few laws.

Should we start in Texas? Does anyone know what the law is in other states?

7. These have been around for awhile.
Even congress has discussed them I believe. It was either J. Asscrotch or Orrin Hatch who brought a sight called "lil abby" or something to the forefront a few years ago. I think I still lived in FL when it was being discussed, so that would make it before fall 2002. The mother of "lilwhoever" was even on national TV, IIRC.

9. That site was disgusting.
Yet, it appears they know how to skirt around the legalities of exploiting a child. Somehow that just makes it worse.
