What's New With The Kangaroo?
Roo's Future Uncertain

MADISON, Wis. -- He's captured the hearts of people from Madison to Dodgeville -- and far beyond.

Now the kangaroo some are calling "Roo," is at the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison. No one has stepped up to claim him yet.

Iowa County residents spotted the kangaroo Monday night, hopping in and out of traffic on Highway 151, near Dodgeville. Some were skeptical that there could be a kangaroo in frigid Wisconsin, until it was lured by apples into a barn on Wednesday and captured.

Zoo director Jim Hubing says 3-year-old Roo is fitting in well with staff, but he hasn't met the other kangaroos yet. If his owner doesn't show up soon, he could be come a permanent Madison resident at the zoo.

must have thought they were losing it when they first saw it. I mean, you just wouldn't believe you were seeing a kangaroo hopping down a Wisconsin highway. I'm so glad the little guy is okay, and it looks like he found a new home.
