TV program question. Vietnam related. |
|
What was the program that was on about 12 or so years ago about Vietnam that opened with The Stones' Paint It Black? Is it in rerun on DirectTV? How about China Beach?
I have been TV-less for 11 wonderful years, but now have TV at the mountain house in NC (five sets came with the house!). I might take them all down to the weekend bonfire before it's all over. But I thought I'd look for some of my old favorites, first. Others include Perry Mason, Hogan's Hero's, and The Rockford Files.

I haven't seen that anywhere on Dish Network in reruns. "China Beach" does run on the History Channel. "Rockford Files" is on somewhere too. Not sure about the others.

I was thinking "Tour of Duty" but wasn't sure. I'll check out the history channel. I wish I'd run into Dana Delaney (China Beach) in Vietnam! She is my vicarious true love.

3. Where is your mountain house, DemoTex? |
|
We go to Cherokee every year. Where's your cabin? I want to visit other parts of NC. Any suggestions for areas as beautiful as the Smoky Mountain National Park?
(sorry if I am completely off topic :-) )

5. Round Mountain, just south of US 64 between Brevard and Cashiers. |
|
Actually, very near Rosman, the eastern continental divide, and the headwaters of the French Broad River. The eastern boundry of NC's Gorges State Park (wilderness) is 4000 meters west of us. We are in the Nantahala (sp?) National Forest. I can hike to the north end of Lake Jocasee easily (all but the northern tip of Jocasee is in South Carolina). We are about 40 miles southwest of the Asheville airport. Wish I had a picture to post, but now that it is off of Realtor.Com, I can't link to it any more. I'll try to get a digital next week when I go back (I am in Dallas now).

4. The theme song of China Beach |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-29-03 09:14 PM by Lydia Leftcoast
was "Reflections" by the Supremes (or Diana Ross and the Supremes, or maybe just Diana Ross. I'm not sure.)
Program notes:
"Rockford Files" is on WGN.
"Perry Mason" is on Hallmark.
If you really want to revisit the fifties, GoodLife TV (which is supposed to be a Moonie channel) runs old detective shows (77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, and Surfside 6--I bet you remember their theme songs) on Tuesday night and old Westerns (Cheyenne, Maverick) on either Wednesday or Thursday. On whichever night they don't run the Westerns, they run Combat and The Gallant Men.

A friend's dad, who was a great family friend and one of the first Delta pilots, once owned Surfside 6 (on Miami Beach). That was way before the TV series.
