Curse of the new Soldier Field in Chicago?
First quarter and DA BEARS are already losing 10 - 0.

http://www.chicagobears.com/

Is it because the players figure they are playing in a toilet bowl and so the team belongs in the toilet? For those who haven't driven past Soldier Field recently (and I did twice yesterday, once during daylight and once after dark) it is PLUG UGLY.

1. Don't look now
but the curse has mounted to 17-0.

I don't think Kordell Stewart was the answer
to the QB problem.

But there a lot of this going around. My Eagles
got murdered in the first two games in their
new gazillion dollar playpen.

3. Grab a bucket. They put a toilet bowl in the Doric Greek columns.

4. I took my son to the playlot directly across Lake Shore Drive today
and watched my car like a hawk, because the police are towing with a vengeance. (I know this because his day care posted a sign that said, "Quick Pick-up--Police Are Towing.") A lot of bewildered fans came wandering down the wrong street looking for a place to cross the Drive.

5. I agree
That was my first peek at it. Soldier Field has been ruined. Ugh. I used to love the views inside the park, now that's gone. It's uniqueness is history.
I felt the same way when the new Comisky park was built; no charm whatsoever. It has the atmosphere of a mall. Is Wrigley Field next?

10. Watch out for your neck when you drive past.
The damned thing is so high that you can get whiplash from it.

13. You can thank Corbusier...
...for all the post-modern architectural shit we are enduring.

Efficiency, efficiency, efficiency, never mind the aesthetics, never mind that they factor out humanity. Glass and steel, steel and glass, keep it simple in a time of maximum complexity. Build huge canyons of glass and steel that die at 5:30 and resemble Gärten des Granits beträchtlich. Places of silence for more hours than they live.
