What newspaper editor in their right mind would do this?
I mean, so much going on, the tsunami, Iraq, etc, so what does the editor of this small town newspaper put in his editorial?

His daughter's birthday.

Sheesh.

2. What's wrong with that?
Why do we always have to emphasize the bad news in life? I think it's rather a nice reminder that the most important thing we have is the love of our families and friends. Which is what we need to sustain us when things like the tsunami or events like Iraq happen.

It's not like it's the New York Times - the guy is publicly wishing his little girl a happy birthday. Good for him.

8. Well, you should have seen the tirade
this same 'editor' unleashed on a friend of mine because she had the temerity to say Happy Birthday to her son in her blog.

Cunt was about the nicest word he used about her for daring to show some pride...and some baby pictures...of her oldest.

11. The picture accompanying the article seems to be his daughter

with a gigantic bronze thumb up her butt. It would appear that he has passed on the habit of sitting around with his thumb up his ass to her.

14. At first glance I thought it was a giant bronze penis, but I decided
that such a thing would not be in place at the Smithsonian, so I had to look closer :)

17. There's no way that thumb will fit up her butt
Frankly, I think it's just too big.

This might deserve it's own thread

16. I was thinking the same thing
When I worked for the daily paper, I wrote for a larger audience. Personal columns and editorials centered on larger events. Some of my favorite writings, however, were the ones I did the for the small, hometown papers I served. We were allowed a much more intimate relationship with our readers.
