If Illinois has a tornado or earthquake, we're seriously screwed.
This weekend 3 more National Guard units from here left for Iraq. There is now not a single NG unit available for disaster relief within 100 miles of here, literally, and damned few left statewide. Gee, thanks George!

:wtf:

1. IL is likely to have at least one tornado someplace
by this spring. And the Lawrenceville Fault might act up again, not to mention the New Madrid, which will effect the area around Carbondale. Will we have to rely on retired military too old to go to Iraq? If so, better tell my brother......

3. Excellent observations.
We had to 'make do' at Utica last year with whoever and whatever we could. Thank God it was a little place.

4. Spring flooding is going to be bad.
I remember news reports where the National Guard had a large presence on screen trying to save levies, farms, and small towns.

What is going to happen this spring when the five or so big rivers in the midwest flood?

5. They had a big send off the other day for the Danville NG
everybody was cheering and waving cheap little American flags made in China for the boys to kill and die for George..

6. Won't be much different than the Florida NG being gone
during the hurricanes this past summer. The thought of National Guard units being overseas just kills me.
