To all you Jews, a challenge
Tell me where I can buy the best corned beef sandwich in the country. My favorite, so far, was in a place called Manny's in Chicago Midway Airport.

Mmmmmm..... Kreplachs and the potato pancakes from Jerry's, maybe a little brisket or one of their sammiches with some kraut.

Next time I'm in LA, boyo....

9. We got some good deli's down here
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 09:39 PM by RagingInMiami
Except one of the most famous one's, Wolfies, has closed down. The other good one is called The Rascal House in North Miami Beach. But it still doesn't compare to that sandwich I had in Chicago.

11. Corky's and Lenny's in suburban Cleveland
has some mean corned beef. When I was a camper, it was always a treat to get something from C&L's on visitor's day or if we won cabin inspection.

12. No Jewish delis near me
I might be a Gentile, but kosher cuisine is some of the most comforting food in this country, IMHO. Your thread is giving me a hankering for a good corned beef sandwich right now, also. :)

19. Surprisingly good--Miracle Mile Deli in Phoenix
But only the one downtown on Central Avenue.

Otherwise Carnegie Deli in NYC is the gold standard.

Run by 2 Jews, one of whom I know quite well, their sandwiches are the bomb, no question about it. They have won tons of awards for being a well-run, rapidly expanding business, and they started a very successful nonprofit food rescue organization (where I work) to boot, so they are community-conscious, environmentally conscious, they're the shit.
Can you tell I like it??

Zingerman's Corned Beef
Cured especially for Zingerman's from Premium Gold Angus Beef by our friend, Sy Ginsberg. We cook over 1000 pounds in our kitchen each & every week! It's the tenderest, tastiest corned beef around.

#2 Zingerman's Reuben
Zingerman's corned beef, switzerland swiss cheese, sauerkraut & russian dressing on double baked, hand sliced, grilled Jewish rye bread.
$10.50 / $11.99
