I was driving up the GW parkway yesterday... my first time in DC in many years...God, I still love that town, even if I can't get anywhere downtown due to "security"...

anyway, I could have sworn I saw this sign...

1. No biggie...the CIA's HQ

is named after Bush I, a former CIA director years ago. That crowd loves the old man.... named the whole place after him. The whole place! Think doesn't have pull when he needs it?! C'mon.

Named after Poppy (former CIA director).

It has to be one of the most ironically-named buildings in the country though. (Although housing the EPA in the Ronald Reagan Building is certainly a contender.)

Actually, if you live near Renton, Washington, make a point of visiting the bar at the local Billy McHale's. Check out the left side of the wall nearest the entrance, and you'll be treated to an old (early 50s, from the look of it) Tricky Dick campaign poster reading "Richard M. Nixon -- a voice for honest government!" It still cracks me up every time I see it...
